Touristing

So like I say, I am new to Bristol and I don't know the city too well, why did I move here I hear you ask? Well, good question, not too sure of the answer really..other than the fact this city really is rather pretty. Also rumoured to be the happiest city in the UK.. good enough reasons? Hmm..  I came here for a few interviews before landing my job at EMO Advertising and Marketing , but I had never been here before that, Nick had somehow convinced me Bristol was the place for us so I kind of went with it.

Anyway here we are, and as much as I hate to say it, Nick was right! I love this place, the view from our apartment is amazing, we are a stones throw from the canal, we can just about make out the Clifton suspension bridge and we have a great view of the multi-coloured houses up on the hill. Oh and my walk to work is quite beautiful.

To make things even better, it is nearly Christmas, so a few weeks ago we headed down to Cabot Circus to see Cinderella turn the Christmas lights on and look around the German Christmas Market, this well and truly got me in the Christmas spirit. I cannot wait to spend this years festivities with my family, we were in Australia last year so kind of missed it, Christmas in the sun is just not natural.

Last weekend, my Mum came down to visit, which was super fun, we just walked all day taking in the sites. We went in to the Cathedral which is fascinating, so big. Then took a walk up Park street where we saw some genuine Banksy, and had a snoop in the cute little boutique stores up there.

We somehow ended up in Clifton (Like I say, I am still exploring), so we took a walk along the suspension bridge. Unfortunately it wasn't the best day so the views weren't exactly incredible, oh and it was freezing.

The cafe's in Clifton where absolutely rammed at that time on a Saturday afternoon so it took us a while to find a place for lunch. Luckily we found this little gem, The Rainbow Cafe  which perfectly suited our needs, I went for the cream tea, delicious!

That's all for now...

Peace and Love
